Missing since March
Passepartout has been a silent traveller since March, when Fang (the previous owner) gave the painting to June, a Japanese traveller. I have mailed June several times, but without an answer. Let's hope Passepartout emerges somehow, as he still has to travel half the globe in the coming six months.

Visiting Melaka, Malaysia
I used my last winter vacation to visit Melaka, a historical city which is listed as a UNESCO UNESCO World Heritage Site.
My father was worried about me travelling alone, so he went to TPE airport with me to remind me of travelling safely.
After arriving at Low Cost Carrier Terminal, taking a bus for 2.5 hours to my destination - Melaka.
In Melaka, there are many historical heritages because it was an important trading sites in the 16th century. Traders came from Arabia, China, India and Europe.
Besides, Melaka was under several foreign nations control, such as Portuguese, Dutch, British, and Japanese. As a result, Melaka is full of diverse buildings and cuisine,
Let's take an eye on the heritages.
This is St. Paul's Church, built by Portuguese captain in 1521. It is located on a hill that you may see a good view of Melaka.
After walking down from St. Paul's Church, I saw the famous Stadthuys and Christ Church. Both of the two buildings were constructed by Dutch. In fact, the Stadthuys original color was white, it was painted in red due to matching Christ Church.
Leaving from the Stadthuys, I visited the right riverside of Melaka. Cheng Hoon Teng temple is there. It's the oldest Chinese temple in Malaysia. The Chinese words(觀空自在) mean that meditation then you will get epiphany and feel free.
Except walking, riding a bike is a good way to look around Melaka.
It rained suddenly when I was riding to Portuguese Square. Just waited till rain stopped.
On the way back to hostel, I went to Pulau Melaka (man made island) to see the sunset on Straits of Melaka. The floating mosque was playing the pray of evening. In addition, the sunset there was really nice, imagined that there were many ships and trades here. At the same time, just listened to the pray and tides, it was so tranquil.

Seediq Bale
Last sunny Sunday passepartout and I visited the film set of "Seediq Bale", which is the most famous Taiwanese movie in 2011. The movie is based on a true story happened in 1930, Taiwan. Here is the official website with official introduction: Seediq Bale
To make the scene as real, the workteam spent nearly USD 3 millon on building a town. Everything here is designed and set up from old pictures at that time. During the early 1900s, Taiwan was colonied by Japan so that everything was in Japanese style.
The film set will open for visit before the end of March, 2012. Visitors can rent costumes. The Little girl was dressed as Japanese and I was in aboriginal clothes (Seediq style)!
Let's see the movie trailer then we will understand how great achievement "Seediq Bale" did!!!
By the way, when we got back to Taipei city later, luckily found there was sakura (cherry blossoms) blooming! Here comes the spring!

We went to a Taiwanese wedding...
Here the trip goes on...
on the last day of Chinese New Year vacation, passepartout and I took High speed train back to Taipei City, where I work. This is the first and the only (so far) high speed rail in Taiwan whose speed up to 300 km/hr. 'Cause it was the day before first work day in CNY so that lots people (mountain ppl mountain see.. in mandarin) there waiting to take the train.
Taipei here we comes!!!
all right... then we visited the landmark of Taipei city -- Taipei 101-- was once the highest building in the world.
Even though weather in Taipei was cold and rainy, we went to a very
warmy..and sweet event.
YES that was my friend's wedding!
In traditional Taiwanese wedding the family would hold simple ceremony with close relatives during the day and go on a lunch/dinner party after that. Passepartout was luckily invited to attend the dinner
party. There are hundreds of guest tonight in ballroom. We had a feast and a great night share their happiness!!!
Isn't the couple cute? They also gave the best regards to Passepartout!
Wish his following trip goes more and more exotic!!!
Wish they have a happy family from now on!

Passepartout celebrates Chinese New Year
It's so happy to get the gorgeous painting Passepartout from Jui.
My name is Tanna. I work in Taipei, Taiwan and stay in my home town
Tainan to have Chinese New year recently. (That's why I met Jui)
Last Sunday was the Chinese New Year's Eve here. the little painting
had dinner with my family. Here is the Chinese tradition: we always
have a dinner together with beloved family on CNY's Eve. There used to
be chicken, meat, and fish on table. And adults will give red
envelopes with money in it to parents, elders, and kids to send our
best wishes. those who accept the red envelopes have to say something
blessings or regards in return.
Temples here on CNY's EVE are all closed till the midnight. So after
dinner we went to the temple to wait for the opening. It is said that
the person who celebrates the first burning incense stick will earn
the extra luck! Passepartout also joined my family to wait for the
moment of the door open!
It was brilliant that the temple staffs collected all incense sticks
together so that everyone was the champion. Many people brought their
charm amulets here and circled them on the fire to pray for the luck.
Passepartout wanted to get closer but we took it far away since it was
kinda dangerous for him. ;)
CNY vacation will go on for the whole week. Next week Passepartout
will go to Taipei, the biggest city in Taiwan. Here we will see what's
going on next!
